WAGNER POWER ACHIEVES ISO 9001:2015 QUALITY CERTIFICATION

Wagner Power Systems is proud to announce the re-certification of its Quality Management System to the new ISO 9001:2015 Standard. ISO 9001 is the world’s most widely recognized benchmark for quality management systems. Achieving this standard helps organizations consistently meet the needs of customers and other key stakeholders in both the delivery and continuous improvement of products and services. To obtain the ISO 9001:2015 certification, an organization must meet the ISO quality management system requirements, which mandate that an organization must: » Demonstrate its ability to provide products and services that meet customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements. » Facilitate opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction.

» Address risks and opportunities associated with its context and objectives. » Demonstrate conformity to specified quality management system requirements.

Our Management Team, Sales, Engineering, and Production Staff underwent a 10-month transition plan that included extensive training and a reevaluation process. It included updates to our current processes and procedures to incorporate the Plan, Do, Check, Act, (PDCA) structure of the new ISO 9001 Standard.

Wagner Power Systems received its ISO 9001:2015 registration from NQA (National Quality Assurance), an accredited registrar that performs assessments of management systems against requirements of national and international standards for quality. Wagner’s Quality Management System and ISO 9001:2015 certification is applicable to the Design, Fabrication, Packaging, Testing and Servicing of Petroleum, Industrial, and Emergency Power Generation Engine-Driven Packages. Our certification to the new ISO 9001 Standard required participation and input from every member of the Sales, Engineering, and Production Staff to make this possible. Special thanks to James Harmon, our Quality Management Representative, and to Allison Ehlert, our Quality Document Control Representative, for their support and dedication throughout the transition process and successful audit.

This is to certify that the Quality Management System of: Wagner Equipment Company 4000 Osuna Rd. THE LATEST IN SKID STEER LOADER SAFETY: PROTECTING YOU AND YOUR FARM

» Rearview mirrors that provide a panoramic view of the rear and sides of the machine. » Rearview cameras that allow operators to be fully aware of their 360-degree surroundings without having to turn their heads. 2. Exhaust Systems Designed for Accident and Injury Prevention Many older model skid steer loaders and several current makes are equipped with exhaust systems that direct exhaust out of the machine from the side and rear. It is easy to imagine the injury and damage this can cause, as these extremely hot exhaust fumes can harm people or livestock standing near the machine. They can also ignite airborne debris such as hay, bedding, feed and silage. With the close working quarters on today’s farms, it is important to find a skid steer loader with an exhaust system that cools the engine exhaust gas and directs it up and away from ground level. All air flow should exit the machine vertically rather than to the side or rear to avoid disturbing or harming people or animals.

Safety is especially important on the farm or ranch, as it not only protects your livestock, but also your machine operators and family. Equipment damage and accidents can mean potential injury, reduced production, decreased performance and lost revenue. In agriculture, four factors are particularly important to consider regarding skid steer loader safety: visibility, the exhaust system, emergency safety features, and everyday operation safety features. 1. Enhanced Visibility Is Essential on the Farm Today’s advanced skid steer loaders are equipped with visibility enhancing features that help prevent injury to nearby workers and livestock. They also help minimize damage to buildings, fences, pens and the machine itself. Some of these include: » Narrow lift arms that reduce blind spots. » Window surfaces that extend all the way to the floor of the cab, allowing operators to see clearly out of both sides of the machine. They also provide a clear view of the machine’s wheels and surrounding terrain.

14 | The Wagner Review

Agricultural Solutions

3. Safety Features to Protect the Operator in the Event of an Emergency In the event of an unexpected engine shut down, it is important to have more than one method of lowering the lift arms so the operator can safely exit the machine. Hydraulic accumulators can allow the operator to lower the loader arms if electrical power is available and the accumulator is charged. If the accumulator is not charged or if there is no electrical power, a dead engine lower valve allows the operator to manually lower the arms so the operator can safely exit. 4. Improving Safety During Everyday Operations On today’s advanced skid steer loaders, safety features activate before the engine is even turned on—starting with the operator presence system, which requires the operator to be in the machine with the arm bars lowered before the engine will start. Once the engine is started, the parking brake will remain set and the hydraulic system locked out until a switch is depressed to activate the machine. Additionally, a spring-applied hydraulic release parking brake will engage and lock the hydraulics out automatically when the arm bars are raised or when the engine is not running.

Fully sealed and pressurized cabs equipped with an air filtration system can help minimize inhalation of contaminants and dust that mix in with the air during everyday operations. These cabs are also quieter, which allow operators to focus on the tasks at hand and reduces their fatigue at the end of a long day. Bottom line: Skid steer loaders should always be equipped with proper safety features to ensure operator and machine safety. This is why it’s a good idea to research the latest safety guidelines, procedures and feature advancements when spec’ing or purchasing a new machine. To learn more about safety on the farm or ranch and the latest safety features available on today’s advanced skid steer loaders,

Whether it’s a period of low costs or spiked fuel prices, fuel consumption is always going to be a major owning and operating cost. Fortunately, there is technology available today to help you better monitor and manage your machine’s fuel efficiency. This will not only help you better understand and predict total operating costs, but also help you bid on jobs more accurately in order to maximize your profit. The operating display systems serve as a vital tool for you, not only for machine diagnostics but also for tracking fuel consumption. Today’s advanced secondary display systems have multiple applications that provide specific fuel-related details, including: 2. Time until empty calculates how much longer the machine can run before it needs to be refueled. The system calculates this time based on how the machine is operating (e.g., standard mode vs. performance mode, or aggressive operation vs. idling). 3. Current fuel provides real-time calculations of the amount of fuel being used per hour while the machine is operating. 4. Resettable job clock allows the operator to track machine time and fuel usage per job. You can use it to get very specific information. For example, you can track the amount of fuel you use per hour/per job, and then reset it when starting your next job. Additionally, the latest machine integration technology allows your machine to track and report fuel consumption and system diagnostics. With this technology, you can check for patterns of excessive fuel usage by machine, date and time. If this is found, it presents an opportunity to implement training sessions or other initiatives to help the operator(s) perform tasks utilizing more fuel-efficient settings or techniques. Machine idle time also factors into overall fuel consumption and operating costs - idle time uses .7 gallons of fuel an hour. That may not sound like much, however, if you consider jobs that involve a substantial amount of idle time, such as highway construction where machines are often idling waiting for trucks to return, the costs add up quickly. This is why many of today’s advanced machines are engineered with an auto idle shutdown feature that allows you to set a period of time the machine will be allowed to idle. At the end of this period, it sends the opera- tor a warning and then automatically shuts the engine down if the operator does not respond. While the latest machine technology allows you to closely monitor and manage fuel use, operator behavior still plays a major role in overall fuel consumption. Operator training should always be a priority so you and/or your operators can stay on top of the latest advancements and methods to operate the machines in the most efficient way possible.
